What will be provide
- A URL of the form https://<SITE_NAME>.sites.umanitoba.ca/
- Production and Non-Production instances of your site
- Updates to WordPress core and related Plugins and Themes
- Our standard update cycle will be once a quarter. We will first update development followed by prod a few weeks later
- Emergency updates will be done in both environments ASAP
- We will notify you of the updates (standard or emergency) but will not require permission to proceed with the update as we need to keep the shared service secure for all stakeholders
- Active Directory authentication for you and your contributors
- Curated list of WordPress plugins and themes
- Cloning of your site from prod to non-prod and vice versa (on request)
- Management of the SSL certificate
What will not be provide
- WordPress training (including how to use plugins or themes)
- Content authoring help
- Custom WordPress Plugins and/or Theme creation
- The ability to have external CGI processes
- The ability to have static HTML pages managed outside of the WordPress environment
Expectations of a WordPress Site Owner
As a site owner you are expected to:
- Respond to all communications related to their site in a timely fashion
- Will confirm that their site is still required yearly
- Manage user access to their WordPress site
- If there are users of your site that do not have an existing UMnetID you will be responsible for sponsoring their account
- Responsible for all content found on their WordPress site
- This is to deal with any concerns raised about the content on your site
